As part of its strategic transformation, thyssenkrupp Polysius is taking another step forward. Effective 1 May 2026, the company has carved out its sustainable process technologies – in particular Oxyfuel applications and other CO₂‑reducing solutions – into the newly established thyssenkrupp Calvion GmbH.
With the carve‑out, thyssenkrupp Polysius is bundling its activities in sustainable process technologies within a dedicated organization. The objective is to further develop these technologies in a clearly structured way and to accelerate their development, industrialization and market deployment, supporting customers in reducing CO₂ emissions in energy‑intensive production processes.
The new structure provides clarity and focus: thyssenkrupp Polysius sharpens its profile as a provider of single‑machine solutions, modernizations, spare parts and field services, while thyssenkrupp Calvion GmbH gains the organizational framework to independently advance sustainable process technologies and grow in the market.
The new company
thyssenkrupp Calvion GmbH, headquartered in Ennigerloh, commenced operations on 1 May 2026 with a team of around 40 employees and specializes in sustainable process technologies for the cement, lime and other energy‑intensive industries. In addition to further developing established solutions, Calvion focuses on the development of new technological approaches specifically aimed at future industrial requirements.
Its portfolio includes Oxyfuel technologies as well as other solutions for reducing process‑related and combustion‑related emissions. Target customers are companies seeking to progressively make their production processes more climate‑friendly and to navigate increasing regulatory and economic requirements. Calvion supports customers along the project lifecycle, ensuring that innovative concepts can be translated into implementable industrial solutions.
thyssenkrupp Calvion will focus on the further development and industrial implementation of sustainable process technologies. This includes both existing core markets and new application areas where increasing demands for CO₂ reduction and energy efficiency are emerging.
Management and governance
thyssenkrupp Calvion GmbH will be led by Lukas Schoeneck, who previously headed the Green Solutions business at thyssenkrupp Polysius. He is supported by Patrick Vaugt (Operations), as well as Eike Willms (Technology) and Philip Glörfeld (Sales) - combining product lifecycle management and deep technical expertise with strong market know-how to develop and shape new technologies in different industries.
thyssenkrupp Calvion GmbH will be a wholly owned subsidiary of thyssenkrupp Polysius.
Christian Myland, CEO thyssenkrupp Polysius: “With the carve‑out of our sustainable process technologies, we are creating clear structures and responsibilities. This allows us to further develop the profile of thyssenkrupp Polysius while providing these technologies with an organizational framework that reflects their importance for the industry.”
Lukas Schoeneck, CEO thyssenkrupp Calvion GmbH: “Our ambition is to bring scalable carbon capture solutions to the market faster. By combining proven expertise with an agile setup and strong partnerships, we are well positioned to support our customers in making meaningful progress on their decarbonization journey - today and in the future.”
